Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco-Santa Maria (Rafting/Biking)

 

We’ll pick you up at your hotel at 6 a.m. and take you through the breathtaking Sacred Valley of the Incas. Admire the stunning vistas of the Vilcabamba and Vilcanota mountain ranges, as well as the lovely tiny settlements that dot the landscape of the Sacred Valley.

 

After a 2-hour journey, we’ll stop at the old Inca village of Ollantaytambo for breakfast, to stretch your legs, and use the facilities. From there, we’ll drive up to the Abra Malaga Pass, which is at an elevation of 4,350 meters (14,271 feet). Start your extraordinary hiking day with a delicious breakfast at a local eatery at about 6:00 a.m. Today’s excursion is one of the most unforgettable portions of the whole voyage. We’ll begin with a 45-minute trek along the auto path before joining the traditional Inca trail, which formerly linked Machu Picchu to Vilcabamba, the final Inca capital.

 

We’ll be amazed by the gorgeous crops of bananas, coca, yucca, and coffee that line this historic trail. Our 3-hour climb on the old Inca route provides breathtaking views of the Vilcanota Valley as well as panoramic panoramas of the hills covered in diverse jungle crops.

 

We’ll have lunch in the picturesque town of Quellomayo at one of the local eateries. You may rest, refuel, and enjoy the area before continuing our journey along the Vilcanota River. DAY 3: SANTA TERESA –HIDROELECTRICA- AGUAS CALIENTES: Zip Line and Trekking

Rise and shine at 6:30 a.m., have breakfast, and prepare for an action-packed day. The zipline firm will pick you up and transfer you to the zipline base at 8:00 a.m. Following a quick instruction, we set off on an exciting 2-hour trip that includes four different ziplines and a suspension bridge.

 

After you’ve got your fill of ziplining thrills, take a one-hour car excursion to Hidroelectrica for a well-earned lunch. After lunch, take a 3-hour picturesque climb along the railroad lines to Aguas Calientes town. Check into your hotel and rest when you arrive.

 

At 7:00 p.m., have a fantastic meal at a nearby restaurant before returning to the hotel for a good night’s sleep. The next day, get up early to tour the spectacular Machu Picchu.

DAY 4: EXPLORE MACHU PICCHU; RETURN TO CUSCO

 

Arriving from Aguas Calientes at Machu Picchu’s Main Gate: There are two ways to go to Machu Picchu’s main gate from Aguas Calientes. You may either go on a picturesque 1.5-hour trek or take a simple $12 bus journey. You have the option, and you may make your decision on the same day you intend to visit Machu Picchu. Whatever choice you make, your day will begin bright and early at 4 a.m. with a great breakfast at your Aguas Calientes hotel.

 

If you want to WALK from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu, you will begin your adventure at 4:30 a.m. You’ll begin by walking for around 30 minutes from your accommodation in Aguas Calientes to Puente Ruinas. The first checkpoint is Puente Ruinas, where you must provide your Machu Picchu tickets and original passports to obtain admission. After passing through the Puente Ruinas checkpoint, you’ll begin an uphill trek to Machu Picchu, ascending around 1,700 steps. This climb usually takes one hour to one hour and twenty minutes. When you arrive at Machu Picchu’s main gate, you’ll join your group and guide to enter the site and begin your wonderful tour of this historic Inca fortress.

 

If you want to take the bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu, you must buy your ticket in town, either the night before or the next morning. One-way bus tickets cost $12. Once you have your ticket, get in line for the first buses, which leave Aguas Calientes at 5:30 a.m. The bus ride to Machu Picchu takes roughly 30 minutes. When you arrive in Machu Picchu, you’ll meet your group and guide at about 6 a.m. to access the site and begin exploring the incredible old Inca city together.

After that, you will be free to explore Machu Picchu on your own. If you register in advance, you will be able to trek Huayna Picchu ($60) or Machu Picchu Mountain ($60) following your guided tour. Reservations for either mountain must be made three months in advance since Huayna Picchu can only accommodate 200 people each day. We also encourage making time to relax, meditate, and rest while making use of this wonderful wonder’s mystical and spiritual powers.

 

After exploring Machu Picchu, you’ll return to Aguas Calientes to catch the train back to Ollantaytambo and Cusco.
