Tours Manu National Park 3 days, is one of the programs to explore to one of the richest places in flora and fauna, Considered also one of the largest and richest natural Peru reserves in the world, which allows you to make intimate contact with nature in its most primitive and wild state.

The Manu National Park was created in 1973 to conserve a wide biological diversity of the tropical forest of southeastern Peru. Contribute to regional development through research, as well as the recognition and protection of cultural diversity and self-determination of the indigenous peoples of the area, located on the western edge of the Amazon basin, in the departments of Cusco and Madre de Dios, encompassing the totality of the Manu river basin and has an extension of 1’716,295.22 hectares.

Itinerary

Day 01: Cusco – Forest of Clouds or Bosque de Nubes

The first day we will leave Cusco Very early, We will cross interesting inter-Andean valleys and picturesque rural communities. We will visit Paucartambo, a picturesque colonial town, and its interesting museum. Lunch on the route. We continue to the Cloud Forest, an area very rich in endemic species such as the Spectacled Bear and Gallito de las Rocas, orchids, bromeliads, ferns, lichens, etc. observing the nature and then continue to our hostel Orquídeas de San Pedro where we will spend our first night comfortably installed.

Day 02: Bosque de Nubes – Erika Lodge

Very early we will look for the interesting Cock of the Rocks, national bird of Peru that makes a unique ritual of courtship. After breakfast we continue to the village of Pilcopata *, then to the Atalaya port, a place located on the Alto Madre de Dios River, 700 meters above sea level from where we will start the descent by boat to observe the enormous diversity of existing bird species, such as herons, vultures, cormorants, etc. until we reach our Private Reserve “Erika”. We will walk through the interesting trails of this transitional point between high jungle and low jungle where the guide will search, show and explain the interesting diversity of wildlife in the surroundings. Stay in the shelter. A nocturnal walk will be scheduled to observe insects and amphibians.

1 Optional free -Canotaje: From Pilcopata we will do 1 hour and a half of canoeing (classes I and II) by the rivers Koñeq and/or Alto Madre de Dios. You will enjoy the landscape, you will swim in its refreshing waters.

2 Optional free -Canopy tour: Our clients from Erika Lodge go from tree to tree and their aerial platforms using harnesses in horizontal cables with a system of lanes with which they glide at great speed on the treetops of this fabulous Amazonian forest. that goes down in rappel from 15 meters high.

Day 03: Erika Lodge – Cusco

Very early we will board our boat to go to the Collpa, a wall of the river where the different species of parrots such as the blue-headed parrot, white-eyed parrot and possibly the Maracana macaw, among others go down every morning to extract clay necessary for their dietary balance. At the end of this daily activity, we return to our hostel Erika to pack and sail by boat to the Port of Atalaya, where the bus will take us back. We had lunch en-route arriving at night to Cusco.
