Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Cusco. Visit Cusco’s own city.
Welcome to Peru! Today you will be flying from the capital Lima to historic Cusco. Upon arrival at Cusco airport, an Inca Expert Travel representative will be greeted. The short drive to your hotel in the historic center will provide you with beautiful examples of Cusco’s hybrid SpanishInca architecture.
After checking into your hotel, delve into Cusco’s past history with a private guided tour of its major historic sites. Start with a visit to the impressive Cusco Cathedral and the Temple of Coricancha. Then rise above the sea of terracotta roofs as you visit the monumental Sacsayhuaman Citadel.
The afternoon is yours so you can spend it as you please. Discover new flavors and shop for souvenirs at San Pedro Market or stroll the cobbled streets of bohemian San Blas.
Day 2: Private tour of the Sacred Valley. Train to Machu Picchu.
After a full breakfast, your guide will wait for you for a private scenic drive through the Sacred Valley. Your private tour will visit the archaeological site of Moray and the colorful salt flats of the Maras and delight you with the intellectual heritage of the Incas. The tour ends with a visit to the ruins of Ollantaytambo monolithic fortress, but the tour continues. See the changing landscapes on a comfortable train ride to Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu’s base town.

Day 3: Private visit to Machu Picchu. Return to Cuzco.
Early morning rewards you with a memorable day exploring the “lost city of the Incas”. Your private guide will take you through the iconic ruins of Machu Picchu, discussing its mystery and construction skills while absorbing the wondrous landscape surrounding this important ruin. Return to Aguas Calientes for the train back to Cusco, where your driver will meet you at the train station to drop you off at your hotel for your well-deserved rest.

Climb Huayna Picchu or Mount Machu Picchu to admire the ruins, or add an extra day to Machu Picchu.
Day 4: Return to Lima or continue your journey.
Enjoy the ultimate breakfast at your hotel in Cusco. Our Inca Specialist representative will meet you in time to take you to the airport to begin your return journey.
