Cusco Vacation Package 4 Day Itinerary.
Day 01 Sacred Valley of the Inca Day Tour.
Your Cusco vacation package starts at 6:30 AM as we set off from Cusco for a full-day tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Our first stop is Chinchero, a lovely village known for its colorful weavings and ancient Inca terraces. You’ll get a chance to experience Andean culture and enjoy stunning mountain views along the way.
Next, we’ll head to Moray, where you’ll see the circular terraced fields, which show how the Incas were skilled in farming. Then, we’ll move on to Maras, where you’ll see salt pans spread across the hills, each one shimmering like the sky.
As lunchtime comes, we’ll stop at Urubamba for a buffet with a variety of local dishes to try. After that, we’ll visit Ollantaytambo, an ancient Inca town with impressive stone terraces that go up the mountain sides.
Our last stop of the day is Pisac, around 4:30 PM. You’ll explore its lively market and visit the large Inca ruins before we return to Cusco. This day covers about 70 miles (113 kilometers) and gives you a deep look into Inca history and culture. The tour ends back in the city center near the square around 6:30 PM.
Day 02: trip to Machu Picchu from Cusco.
Our second day in the Cusco Travel Packages starts early, as we leave Cusco for Ollantaytambo at 5:20 AM. From there, you’ll catch the expedition train at 7:45 AM, traveling through the sacred Urubamba River Valley to Aguas Calientes, the town located at the base of Machu Picchu. This beautiful journey is about 58 miles (around 93 kilometers) long. We arrive in Aguas Calientes around 9:15 AM and take a bus up to the Machu Picchu citadel. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is located at an altitude of 7,972 feet (2,430 meters) and is sure to leave you in awe. We’ll spend two hours on a guided tour, discovering the rich history and secrets of this ancient Inca city.
After the tour, those who enjoy adventure can choose to hike either Machu Picchu Mountain or Huayna Picchu Mountain.( not included) It’s important to note that permits are needed for these hikes and often sell out months ahead of time because they are so popular. Both routes offer amazing views, but they do require a moderate to high level of fitness.
We’ll return to Aguas Calientes around 2:00 PM, giving you some free time to explore the town. Then, we’ll take the expedition train again at 4:22 PM back to Ollantaytambo. From there, we’ll drive back to Cusco, and our second day will wrap up around 8:00 PM.
Day 03: Humantay Lake day tour.
The third day of our Cusco Travel Packages starts at 4:00 AM with a departure from Cusco for a full-day tour to Humantay Lake. After a two-hour drive, we’ll arrive in Mollepata, a small town located at 9,200 feet (about 2,800 meters) above sea level. There, you’ll have the chance to enjoy a hearty breakfast before continuing by car for another hour to Soraypampa station, which is the starting point for the hike.
Around 9:30 AM, we’ll begin the hike towards the beautiful Humantay Lake. This trail is about 2 miles (approximately 3. 2 kilometers) long and will take us up to an altitude of 13,779 feet (about 4,200 meters). The hike is moderately difficult, but it’s well worth it for the view of the stunning turquoise waters of Humantay Lake, surrounded by snow-capped mountains.
You’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the views, take some photos, and even join in a traditional Andean ceremony if you’d like. Afterward, we’ll hike back down to Soraypampa and then return by car to Mollepata, where a buffet lunch will be waiting for you. We’ll return to Cusco around 6:00 PM, ending the day with a mix of natural beauty and Andean culture.
Day 04: full Rainbow Mountain day trip
The final day of our four-day Cusco Travel Packages brings us to the amazing Rainbow Mountain, also called Vinicunca. We’ll leave Cusco at 4:00 AM and drive to the village of Cusipata. The trip takes about an hour and a half, and once we arrive, we’ll have a healthy breakfast before starting our hike. Our guide will go over the plan and what to expect as we head towards the start of the trail.
We’ll begin the hike at around 9:00 AM, walking along a path that’s about 3 miles long, or roughly 4. 8 kilometers. The climb to the top, which is 17,060 feet above sea level, can be tough because of the high altitude. But the effort is worth it when you see the stunning, colorful stripes of Rainbow Mountain, a special natural formation.
You’ll have time to enjoy the view, take some great pictures, and breathe in the fresh mountain air. After we come back down the same way, we’ll have lunch at a restaurant in Cusipata. We’ll return to Cusco around 4:30 PM, completing our unforgettable four-day Cusco Travel Packages.
